Winter Getaway: Planning a winter escape? Keep in mind that reservations made before October 1st for the Winter Season (January and February) require a minimum 60-day stay. Reservations not meeting this criteria may be subject to cancellation by management. After October 1st, reservations for the winter months can be made for a minimum of three or seven nights, depending on unit specifications.

“Great Condo for a Family Spring Break Get-Away!”

We stayed at this condo for the week of my (teen) daughter's spring break. It was myself, my husband, our son (who was 9 months at the time) and our teen daughter. Overall we were very pleased with this accommodation. It was clean, an adequate size to where we each had enough space to spread out and the beds were comfortable. It is a two bedroom and each bedroom has it's own bathroom (with a shower/tub combo.) The bathroom for the secondary bedroom is accessed from both the secondary bedroom and the main area of the condo so if you had guests over that is the bathroom they would use. The water pressure was great in the condo and we had plenty of hot water. There were plenty of towels and wash cloths but if you run out there is a washer and dryer in the condo that you could wash and dry them in. As stated above there is a full sized washer and dryer in the unit which was nice since we were traveling with an infant and clothes washing was necessary. The common areas of the condo have tile flooring (which is nice because of the sand you will track in off the beach) but there was an area rug in the living area which was nice since we were traveling with a baby who had just started to crawl. The area rug kept him off the cold tile. The view form the condo and balcony was also fantastic. You are up high enough (13th floor) to where you can see a ways and the other condo towers across the street between you and beach don't obstruct much. The other condo towers are still in your view so you don't have a clear view of the Gulf from the condo but it's still a nice view. The balcony is accessible from sliding patio doors in both the living room and the master bedroom. The kitchen was fairly well stocked with plates, cups, cooking pots and utensils. We did find some filters for the coffee pot after we bought some which was annoying. A K-cup machine would have been nice though. Make sure to bring your own paper towels, trash bags, dish soap, detergent, toilet paper, toiletries and condiments though. There was a small starter set of of dishwashing soap and dishwasher powder when we got there but it didn't last long. Same went for the toilet paper and bath soaps and shampoo. There was no starter set of launder detergent that we ever found. Also I think there were some extra trash bags in the bottom of the trash cans (kitchen and bathrooms) but if you are staying for a week you will probably need more. I can't remember if there were any paper towels in the condo upon or arrival or not. We had already planned to buy in Gulf Shores or bring all our own paper towels, trash bags, dish soap, detergent, toilet paper, toiletries and condiments though anyway. This wasn't our first time staying in a condo and it's just common sense that whatever stock the condo has is just to get you started. My biggest concern about going to Gulf Shores for spring break with my daughter was that it would be crowded with drunk college students. I realize that Gulf Shores is not exactly the first place that comes to mind when people think of a college spring break but it's not that far from Florida where the college crowd does gather so this was a concern. Spring break is not just for college kids though and we were looking for a family friendly place to spend my teens spring break week and Gulf Shores is very well known for being family friendly so we figured we would give it a try. There were some college kids in Gulf Shores when we were there celebrating spring break but they were pretty tame and courteous. There were a few days where a very large crowd of college kids gathered at the beach right where the condo boardwalk dumps you onto the sand, they were flying their fraternity flags etc, but we just walked down the beach away from them. They were a little noisy during the day but by 11pm they were quite. I spoke with the reception desk in the condo (about something totally unrelated to the college kids, I never once complained about them since there was nothing to complain about) and she told me that if they were getting out of hand to let the front desk know because they would be kicked out. One night when we got into the elevator there was a sign from the Gulf Shores police department hanging on the wall stating something along the lines that Gulf Shores was a family friendly town and that the laws would be enforced even thought it was spring break and that maintaining a place for decent law abiding citizens to live and vacation at was their top priority and not tourist dollars from rowdy spring breakers (see my photos for a picture of the sign.) I commend Gulf Shores for having this attitude. There are plenty of others places in FL and Mexico for college gets to go and get drunk and act loud and stupid at. Leave Gulf Shores to families. My daughter's spring break just happened to fall during a week when most if not all of the major universities around GA and AL and LA were still in session though so that may have helped to cut down on crowds. The fraternity that was gathered on the beach that I mentioned above was from up north somewhere. As alluded to above this condo is NOT on the beach. It is across the street from the beach. There is an enclosed climate control walkway though that takes you all the way across the road above street level. You access it from the 2nd floor of the condo tower and then walk across, above the street. Once you cross the street via the walkway there is the largest of the condo's 3 pools and then a small boardwalk that dumps you out onto the sand. The fact that the condo was not on the beach was not issue, for us at least, because of the enclosed 2nd story walkway that you cross the street by. There is a gate with a keypad on it at the boardwalk as you go onto the beach so the pool area and walkway is somewhat secure although lots of people are always coming and going through the gate so they could just let whoever off the beach in. You are given the code for the keypad when you check in. You are also given arm bands when you check in and you must wear them when you are on property. If you do not have them on the condo staff will ask you to leave or to go to your condo and get your band. Because of this even if somebody who was not staying at the condo was let in it is likely they would be discovered and asked to leave. The condo does have 3 separate pools. Two are outdoor (one on the beach side of the street and the other on the condo building side of the street) and one indoor one but only the indoor pool is heated. Even in March the outdoor pools were still a little too chilly to enjoy. The indoor pool was great though. The pool on the beach side also has some shower heads (not enclosed) for you to rise the sand off yourself and your stuff before you head back to the condo. Checkin was easy and they accommodated us after hours. We left at about 5pm from Houston the day my daughter got out of school for spring break (a Friday) and we drove straight through the night to Gulf Shores. We booked that Friday night even though we knew we would not be getting there until the next morning and we arrived at around 6:30am in Gulf Shores. By 7am we were inside the condo. The management company also accommodated us with a slightly later than standard checkout time the day we left which we very much appreciated. Now for the negatives. The condo building only has 3 elevators and it needs at least 6 when the building is at or near capacity. We never saw one of the elevators work the entire 9 days we were there. One night only 1 was working and it was an absolute nightmare. It took us 30 minutes to catch an elevator going down. Since we were on the 13th floor with an infant and a stroller that we needed for the evening just walking down the stairs was really not an option. They did get the second elevator working before the next morning but there were still only two working and this led to a delayed time waiting for an elevator at times of the day (like dinner) when lots of people were leaving at once. Also the wifi signal was not the greatest in this unit. It does have a dedicated wifi signal (as do all the other units around it) but they are all open so anyone can hop on. The signal seemed to vary in strength. We were able to look up what we needed to but you can forget watching videos. Our cell signals worked just fine though. The negatives were not enough to negate the positives of this unit though. I would highly recommend it and will stay here again if I ever return to Gulf Shores.

We enjoyed our stay, however suite was in need of updates and repairs. Unit also not very clean when we arrived. Plus elevator broken in building. With only 2 running and 20 floors it was difficult to get anywhere. And because of this social distancing was not an Option which was concerning.

Condo is in nice convenient location- lots of stores close by. The sky walk makes going to beach and pool safe. Our kids loved the pools, everything was clean and well taken care of. The condo had everything we needed in good working condition. We would definitely stay here again!

Great condo with great amenities. Stayed during spring break so for me was a little to cold to swim but on site there was an indoor pool and jacuzzi rooms were nice and furnished well. Would recommend anyone to stay here single family etc. hope to visit again. Nice View of the water and beach!

Great property, not so great condo

I'm sorry I can't give this condo a 5 star. The property it self was very convient and the grandson's loved the pool options. My first impression was very good of the condo, but it got worst as the week progressed. 1st disappointment was the false advertisement of a game room.( Gone), and it upset my grandson. 2nd disappointment was when we tried to use the knives in the condo. My god, do you check these things before the next one arrive? It's very hard to cut with dull knives. 3rd was the tv's. One of them the plug from wall to tv in guest room is poor so you had to constantly fool with it to get a great reception. The main room's tv is outdated. I feel, IMHO, the average joe works hard for their vacation, and you want to feel spoiled, but a cheap tv and stuff, just didn't impress me. They didn't have any plastic cups for kids. All you see if families at these locations, and glass is not a good option with ceramic floors and granite counter tops and kids. The Last and the most important downfall, was the sofa. It looked like it had been there for 2 years, very worn out, and then when the grandson's arrived for them to use, it was broken, you couldn't even sleep on it.Don't get me wrong, i think the facility is a great place for a family vacation. I loved the pool options and the design's, it's very convenient, etc. But it was just maybe this particular condo. For over $2000/wk, I expected better..I feel the owners should pay close attention to details.

The unit was everything we expected and was in a nice location. We didn't check out many of the amenities besides the pool. But the unit was nice. The only suggestion I have is you need to get a new can opener. We struggled with getting the existing one to work right

Great location. Great views. Comfortable rooms. Very enjoyable visit. Don't write this property off because it is not "beachside". The property has all the beachfront amenities of other properties and the enclosed walkway bridge over the highway provides full access.I will definitely consider this property on future visits to Lower Alabama.

Great getaway

We had a great time staying at Crystal Tower 1303. The only things we had a problem with, which aren't a big deal, were the dryer didn't want to dry the clothes properly, took several cycles, the outside light on the balcony was out, and there weren't any extra blankets. My daughters slept on the couch, and we had to drive home to grab a few extra blankets. Not a big deal, just thought I would let you guys know for future renters. Thanks for an awesome weekend and we can't wait to go through ya'll for our next vacation away from home!

The condo was more than what we expected. Very roomy and especially clean!! Everything was nice and the beds were really comfortable! The only thing that needs to be changed is the patio furniture on the balcony and the cleanliness around the pool on the condo side. They were both rather nasty. That did not stop us from having a good time though! Other than those two things, it was awesome! Would definitely stay there again😊😊!

I was a little hesitant about renting at Crystal Towers because it is across the street from the beach and I like to stay on the beach for vacation. The view from 1303 is beautiful! I was worried about looking at the back of other condos while on the balcony and not having the beach view, but the view is perfect! The condo was extremely clean and very spacious! This is crazy but the washer was great! It's a normal size washer/dryer so you can keep your laundry up while on vacation and not have a ton to do when you get home. The elevators were quick. There were plenty of carts to use to take your stuff to the room. The breezeway to the pool is air conditioned and it's a plus you don't have to actually cross the street. The pool and hot tub were also nice. There are plenty of chairs so you don't have to worry about not having a chair at the pool. I would definitely rent this condo again. Poole Properties was extremely nice to work with and made check in/check out very easy.

We absolutely loved the stay. My kids enjoyed the convenience of the pools and the beach. I was worried about it not being right on the beach, but the walk way above the road and pools made it easy. The room was clean, well maintained, and updated.
