FAQs About Gulf Shores Parks

  • We are looking for a little extra entertainment that won’t add to our vacation costs, are there any free parks in Gulf Shores?

Gulf Shores offers a variety of parks encompassing many acres of natural beauty and most do not charge anything for entry. Parks that offer a taste of history, a glimpse into the backcountry of the Gulf Shores region, even dog parks, small neighborhood parks, not unlike the ones in your own hometown can be found in the area.

  • Are there any waterfront parks in the area?

Most of our parks are on the water and one of our favorites is also probably the biggest park in the area, Gulf State Park. Taking up 6500 acres of prime Gulf Shores land and sea scape, it offers picnic areas, beach access, campsites, trails, a nature center, even a crystal clear swimming pool for summer fun. Also featuring a magical butterfly garden, travelers could spend every minute of their stay exploring the park and still not see it all!

There are a variety of playgrounds in the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area, many of which are sure to be close to your Poole & Associates vacation rental. Johnnie Sims Park, 348 W 19th Avenue, includes Gulf Shores Kid Park, containing a wooden playground that was constructed by volunteers only, bringing a magical experience to your children. The Edward H. Carroll Sr. Kids Park, 26425 Canal Road in Orange Beach, is another popular children’s park, having been recently renovated and featuring colorful playground equipment and shaded areas that will be most appreciated in the warmer months.
